Borrell Condemns Occupation Targeting Displaced People in School and Hospital in Gaza

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell condemned the Israeli occupation's targeting of a hospital yard and a school in central Gaza, housing displaced citizens. "I condemn the new attacks by the Israeli army on a hospital and a school used as a shelter in central Gaza," Borrell said in a post on the X platform. Borrell added that "the bombing resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of civilians seeking safety in horrific conditions." He pointed out that "mass evacuation orders, violations of international humanitarian law, and disregard for civilian casualties will not make Israelis safer." The ongoing Israeli genocidal war against people in the Gaza Strip has left more than 140,000 martyrs and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people.
