Mumbai, The Island Wedding team of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) recently participated in the WOW Awards Asia 2024 expo held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, on August 17 and 18. The Authority's participation aims to promote the Kingdom as a premier destination for weddings, social events and conferences in the Republic of India, while showcasing the potential Bahrain offers in attracting such events through its luxurious hotels and distinguished tourist and historical facilities. The Island Wedding team met with major Indian and international wedding organising companies and tourism firms, to gain insights into their experiences in promoting exhibition and conference tourism. The strategic presence at WOW Awards Asia 2024 not only positions Bahrain as a prime wedding and MICE destination but also shines a spotlight on the country's rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and world-class infrastructure, further boosting its appeal on the global tourism stage. Dr. Ali Foulad, Tourism Advisor to the BTEA, emphasised that their participation in the event for the fourth consecutive year is aimed at further solidifying Bahrain's position as a premier destination for weddings and social events. "By showcasing our unique blend of modern luxury and authentic Arabian hospitality, we are confident that Bahrain will leave a lasting impression on industry professionals and inspire them to consider Bahrain for their upcoming events, ultimately driving increased tourism and economic growth for the Kingdom," Dr. Foulad added. Dr. Foulad served as the guest of honour to present the MaxiMICE Awards, a prominent platform focused on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, recognising companies that exemplify best practices in tourism marketing and strategic development. Representatives from Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air, participated alongside the BTEA's pavilion at the exhibition. Additionally, several five-star hotels featuring distinctive indo or and outdoor wedding venues showcased their offerings, such as Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain Hotel, Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort, and Royal Saray Resort, further highlighting the exceptional features that the Kingdom of Bahrain possesses in the realms of tourism, weddings and events. The collaborative efforts of BTEA, Gulf Air, and leading hotels underscore Bahrain's commitment to providing a seamless and unforgettable experience for visitors, reinforcing its position as a rising star in the global tourism landscape.
