Cabinet Congratulates HH the Amir and the Qatari Nation on the National Day

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet at the Amiri Diwan yesterday morning.

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet extended congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani – may God protect him – on the occasion of Qatar National Day and congratulated the honored Qatari people on the advent of this remarkable day, where the whole country recalls the historical role of the late founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, who laid the solid foundations of Qatar on national unity, values, and principles.

On this valuable occasion, which coincides this year with the historical achievement accomplished by the State of Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the Cabinet expressed pride in the comprehensive development achieved in all fields by the State under the wise leadership of HH the Amir, and the undergoing work to accomplish more achievements in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.

During the meeting, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - Approval of a draft law on the regulation of fishing ports and passing it to the Shura Council

Second - Approval - in principle - of a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. (9) for 1987 on Control and Regulation of Narcotic Drugs and Dangerous Psychotropic Substances.

Third - Approval - in principle - of Cabinet's draft decision forming a steering committee for the system project of planning and managing governmental resources.

According to the law provisions, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology shall establish a committee entitled the "Steering Committee for the System Project of Planning and Managing Governmental Resources", to manage the project related to the development of the government resource management planning system and follow up on their implementation, in coordination with the concerned authorities. In this regard, the Committee may carry out all the necessary work, including the study and evaluation of technical systems related to managing governmental human and financial resources and their alignment with international best practices.

Fourth - Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding to enhance the cooperation in the field of financial markets in the State of Qatar between Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) and Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority.
