Cabinet Eases Covid-19 Restrictions

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation given by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari on the latest developments regarding the steps taken to curb the spread of Covid-19. After reviewing the report of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management regarding the plan to gradually lift Covid-19 restrictions, and the Cabinet took a host of decisions.

The decisions include lifting restrictions imposed on the carrying capacity of public and private transportation, and the need of unvaccinated people to take a rapid antigen test (RAT) to enter some closed public places.

The Cabinet has announced revised Covid-19 measures that will come into effect on Saturday, March 12, and remain in place until further notice.
