Doha: The activities of summer centers in Doha are afoot with a range of significant programs and students' profound reaction, thus promoting their positive behaviors and honing their wide diversity of skills in a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The primary objective of these centers lies in encouraging students to invest in their leisure time during summer vacation to engage in interesting and beneficial programs that help them flexibly deal with the requirements of the current age and diligently address challenges. Speaking to Qatar News Agency , director of summer activity at the Doha Youth Center, Khaled Mohammed Al Yafei, said the summer activities provided by those centers are diverse and include scientific, sporting, recreational, social, artistic and awareness-raising programs that best suit all age groups, primarily students of the primary, preparatory and secondary schools. He pointed out that there are roughly 500 students who are engaging in the center's summer activity held at Khalifa Independent Secondary School for Boys in an entire reaction that would build their character and hone these various skills, in addition to training them in engagement and shouldering the responsibility. I remarks to QNA, the participants Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Ammar Ziyad Al Mubarak, and Tamim Abdullah Ibrahim affirmed that they are delighted to participate in summer activities at the school, highlighting that these events help them fill their leisure time and practice a wide variety of beneficial activities, as well as forge acquaintances with other colleagues and dedicate the overall activity to achieving utmost benefits. Launched on July 1, the five-week events of the summer centers drew 1,109 students from both gender in the first week at seven public schools and featured numerous programs and activities that best suited various age groups, primarily intellectual, physical, artistic, social and awareness-raising activities. The centers were equipped with highly trained administrative and educational crews to efficiently operate them, with each center receiving roughly 300 students for four hours daily between 9:00 until 13:00. There are 23 youth centers and bodies distributed nationwide which witnessed a striking participation for students, as these centers offer a range of activities provided by the Ministry of Interior and other major bodies.
