Manama, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, chaired the third meeting of the Board of Trustees held today. On the occasion of International Democracy Day, Dr. Al Rumaihi extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Dr. Al Rumaihi affirmed the institute's commitment to advancing democracy in Bahrain in line with national laws and regulations. The board then discussed the meeting's agenda, emphasising the importance of continued coordination with the legislative authority to implement the scheduled programmes and activities, aligning with current developments as the third session of the sixth legislative term approaches. The board reviewed the programmes and studies completed in the third quarter of this year, including workshops, training courses, and lectures for various segments of society, and expresse d appreciation for the efforts of the executive team. They also discussed the implementation of remaining programmes for the fourth quarter, stressing the need for their completion to further strengthen Bahrain's political and democratic work and achieve the institute's objectives for the benefit of the nation. He highlighted Bahrain's role as a regional and global model for democratic work. He also referred to the public participation in the by-elections for Muharraq's First District, coinciding with International Democracy Day, as a reaffirmation of Bahrain's political and democratic path under the National Action Charter, Constitution, and relevant national and international commitments. Dr. Al Rumaihi praised the progress made in enhancing democracy, political participation, and public engagement under the leadership of HM the King, with the support of the government led by HRH the Crown Prince.
