China reiterated its condemnation of the repeated Israeli aggressions on the territory of Syria, stressing that it is a serious violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Xinhua news agency quoted Geng Shuang, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, as saying before the UN Security Council: 'Israel continues its aggressive air raids on Syrian territory, and China, for its part, considers this a matter of great concern,' stressing that 'these actions constitute a serious violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will further push the regional situation out of control. Geng expressed China's full support to the Syrian government in taking the necessary measures to combat terrorism, and called on the international community to respect international law and Security Council resolutions, reject double standards, and combat terrorism in all its forms in Syria without any tolerance, in addition to the need to increase aid to Syria and ensure that earl y recovery projects throughout the country receive adequate and non-earmarked funding support. The unilateral coercive measures and the plundering of resources have hindered Syria's efforts towards economic recovery, social development and improving the livelihood of the Syrian people, Geng said adding 'China urges the countries concerned to immediately stop their illegal unilateral measures, and foreign forces should immediately end their illegal military presence in Syria.
