Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Wednesday with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, who is currently visiting China. During the Meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, especially economic, trade and investment, as well as regional and international developments of common interest. The visit of the Moroccan Foreign Minister to China comes in the context of deepening strategic bilateral relations, as Morocco is considered the first African country to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, and includes China's allocation of huge funds to implement investments in infrastructure along the Silk Road, which connects it with the countries of the Mediterranean Basin.
