An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Adana province today in southern Turkiye. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement that the earthquake occurred in the Kozan region, at a depth of 7.6 km. No casualties or material losses have been reported yet. A violent 7.7-magnitude earthquake jolted southern Turkiye and northern Syria on Feb. 6, 2023, followed by a 7.6-magnitude quake and thousands of violent aftershocks, which resulted in tens of thousands of victims, and caused massive damage and destruction to buildings and property in the two countries.
