Earthquake of 4.7 Magnitude Strikes off Nicaraguan Coasts

An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Nicaragua. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred 87 km from Jiquilillo village in Nicaragua at a depth of 48.1 km. There were no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake. Nicaragua is located within the earthquake belt called the Pacific Ring of Fire, where earthquakes are very active.
