An earthquake measuring four on the Richter scale struck on Sunday the Bushehr province in southern Iran. According to the Iranian Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, at 28.31 degrees north latitude and 49.99 degrees east longitude. There have been no reports of material or human losses as a result of the earthquake so far. Iran is highly prone to earthquakes due to its location in an active seismic zone, the most violent of which was a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck northwest of the country in 1990, killing 37,000 and wounding 100,000.
