An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit southeast of Easter Island in Chile on Sunday. The earthquake occurred 1476.9 km northwest of Hanga Roa, at a depth of 10 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of material damage or tsunamis due to the earthquake so far. In January 2021, two powerful earthquakes struck Chile's coastal regions within minutes of each other.
