“Education” and Tourism sign a cooperation agreement to enhance tourism education among school and university students

Ramallah - Ma'an - Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Hani Hayek signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday that aims to support the tourism education sector among school and university students through implementing targeted programs and activities to enhance the relationship with archaeological and tourist sites. The most prominent provisions of the agreement stipulate cooperation in the field of encouraging students to visit historical, religious and heritage sites, encouraging educational trips to these sites, hosting the Palestinian Mobile Museum in schools and universities, and cooperation in the field of tourism education by adopting the virtual museum as educational tools that enhance students' and researchers' knowledge of Palestinian history and cultural heritage, implementing joint workshops and meetings, holding specialized research and scientific competitions, and others. The two ministers stressed that signing this agreement contri butes to consolidating the national identity among students by emphasizing the importance of archaeological sites in Palestine and its history, which constitutes an essential and important part of the national identity of the Palestinian people. In addition to educating school and university students in this field, preserving the Palestinian cultural and civilizational identity, and exchanging information and data in the field of cultural heritage and tourism awareness, stressing the importance of integrating this agreement with the components of the educational and tourism system and the need for close follow-up of its contents to achieve its goals and provisions.
