Manama, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education and head of the organising committee, announced the countdown for Bahrain's hosting of the International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The event will take place during October 23-31, with 5,651 participants from 70 countries competing in 26 sports. The announcement was made at the press conference held by Dr. Juma, and Ali Isa Eshaqi, head of the event's executive committee. The event took place at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa, with the attendance of officials representing the General Sports Authority (GSA) and the National Communication Centre (NCC), alongside officials from the Ministry of Education, the General Sports Authority, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and local media representatives. Dr. Juma highlighted Bahrain's readiness, citing its experience in hosting international events and the support of its leadership. He noted the significance of the event for promoting school sports and providing opportunities for Bahraini students. Cultural and educational activities will accompany the games, including workshops and a charity event. The organising committee has completed all preparations, ensuring the necessary logistical and technical support.
