Efforts to protect Prophet’s Mosque Affairs visitors from summer heat

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque has prepared a lot of services to protect visitors of the mosque from the summer heat.

They include providing cold drinking water, using a high-efficient air conditioning system, opening more than 250 grand umbrellas during daytime, and using misting fans to help cool the air during prayer times. Squares and corridors at the mosque have also been laid with heat-reflecting marble.

The high-efficient air conditioning system at the mosque is set to specific cooling to maintain a balanced temperature. The air conditioning system has the world's largest water-cooling condenser, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The general presidency's efforts to protect the public from the high temperatures are seen in the construction of 250 huge umbrellas in the squares surrounding the mosque, with a height of 15 and 14 meters.

The misting fans at the mosque's squares, comprising 436 fans, help cool the high temperatures.

Paving all the squares and corridors inside and outside the mosque with specific marble has greatly reduced the temperature.

The general presidency provides 20,000 Zamzam water containers, reaching 22,000 at peak times. Drinking water bottles are also distributed to visitors at the mosque. All these efforts are always intensified during the summertime.
