Doha, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, participated in the joint ministerial session of GCC finance and economy ministers, organised by Qatar's Ministry of Finance in cooperation with Georgetown University. The minister is heading Bahrain's delegation at the 122nd GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting. The session addressed how regional collaboration can bolster economic resilience amid global geopolitical shifts and balance regional and global economic priorities. The Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) integration across various sectors in line with the visions of GCC leaders. He emphasised the need for greater coordination to manage current challenges and sustain the development process in GCC countries to meet citizens' aspirations. The Minister also underscored the need to create a conducive environment for enhancing trade of services and goods within the GCC. He stressed the role of GCC governments in empowering the private sector to drive sustainable economic growth and identified promising sectors, such as tourism, that offer the region opportunities to attract global visitors.
