First aid training course launched in Sohar

A training course on first aid was organised by the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association in collaboration with the Bahrain Embassy in Oman and the office of the Governor of North Al Batinah.

The two-day course marks the celebration of the World First Aid Day under the patronage of Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah.

The event was attended by Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahraini Ambassador to Oman and Rudaina bint Amer Al Hujaria, the President of the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association.

The aim of this course was to provide participants with essential skills and modern techniques used in first aid, as well as familiarise them with the mechanisms of dealing with various emergency cases.

The Governor of North Al Batinah praised the fruitful cooperation between the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association, the Bahrain Embassy and his office. He emphasised that this collaboration builds bridges to achieve further collaboration and contributes to the promotion of sustainable development in both nations.

He affirmed the importance of disseminating the culture of first aid, as this knowledge can help save lives, expedite recovery, and reduce complications that may arise from injuries before the arrival of necessary medical assistance.

Ambassador Al Kaabi affirmed the importance of the GCC civil society's role in spreading awareness on the culture of useful practices, including first aid which is very essential when it comes to emergencies that individuals may face at home, on the street, or at work.

He commended the efforts of the Bahraini Paramedics Academy in promoting the culture of first aid in Oman, which reflects the deep-rooted relations between the two peoples. He praised the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association’s efforts in bringing both nations closer through the events organized by the association in collaboration with the embassy.

Al Hujaria, the association’s president, highlighted the importance of the first aid course organised by the Bahraini Paramedics Academy as the first of many first aid courses that the association will organise in the Sultanate.

She explained that this event is part of the association’s annual plan, which includes a series of conferences, seminars, and exhibitions organised in collaboration with the Bahrain Embassy in the Sultanate.
