New York, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Barbara A. Leaf, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting discussed the strong Bahrain-US relations and the shared commitment to further enhance cooperation in various sectors. The two sides highlighted the first anniversary of the signing of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) between Bahrain and the US, which has advanced relations and strengthened the strategic partnership across various sectors. They also discussed regional and international developments, particularly the Arab and global efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, safeguard civilians and civilian objects, ensure the release of hostages and detainees, and facilitate the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. The meeting also reviewed initiatives to promote a just and comprehensive peace in the Mi ddle East based on the two-state solution, as well as measures to protect maritime navigation in the region.
