Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Dr. Peya Mushelenga, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting discussed the development of bilateral ties between Bahrain and Namibia and explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in various areas. The two sides also exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest. The ministers signed a joint statement formalising diplomatic relations between the two countries. Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, the Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN in New York, and Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Director-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting.
