Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today with His Excellency Mr. António Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), is in the kingdom to attend the opening session of the 33rd Bahrain Summit. Dr. Al Zayani lauded the UN Secretary-General's active role in defending just causes on the global stage, including the Palestinian cause. Guterres expressed pleasure in visiting Bahrain for the 33rd Arab Summit, commending Bahrain's efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in addressing challenging circumstances, particularly the situation in Gaza. He wished Bahrain success in fostering Arab cooperation through constructive decisions at the summit. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and the UN and supporting Bahrain's efforts to achieve UN goals.
