Riyadh, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part in the 161st session of the GCC Ministerial Council, held today at the GCC Secretariat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was chaired by Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and attended by the foreign ministers of GCC member states and GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al Budaiwi. The council reviewed the implementation of decisions made by the Supreme Council and Ministerial Council, as well as recommendations from specialised committees on Gulf cooperation. The agenda also included reviewing progress on free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and several countries and international blocs, along with joint ministerial meetings. The discussions explored ways to enhance Gulf cooperation in different sectors. The council further examined regional political and security developments, particularly the conflict in Gaza, and addressed efforts to end hostilities, secure the release of hostages, and facilitate humanitarian aid delivery. Ambassador Mohammed Al Haidan, Acting Head of the GCC Affairs Sector, and other officials accompanied the Foreign Minister. Source: Bahrain News Agency
