Doha: The Gulf 'Artificial Intelligence in Education' Camp for 2024 commenced on Saturday. The Camp is organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in collaboration with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States for high school male and female students from member countries (remotely) via the Gulf AI Observatory platform. Running for three consecutive weeks, the Camp aims to enhance knowledge of AI concepts and to prepare specialized personnel in this field by training 14 trainees from Qatar on concepts of algorithms and fundamental methodologies in programming and AI through the implementation of a series of practical projects. The event includes an introduction to the Python programming language and AI and its fields, training in machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning, understanding generative intelligence, and prompt engineering. The participants reviewed the MoEHE's efforts and the latest developments in AI, which is considered one of the main driver s of growth and innovation in all sectors, including the education sector. The Qatari students said they are glad to participate in the camp through the cutting-edge methods utilized in AI technologies and its applications in education which will definitely help them internalize further expertise in technology and serve Qatar in the areas of AI and cybersecurity. Additionally, the event will help them understand the labor market needs, thus giving them the opportunity to forge acquaintance with a contingent of trainers from various member countries. The training camp is an interactive educational platform for presenting and discussing scientific material. Based on what they have learned, participants complete exercises and practical projects.
