Manama, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Bapco Energies, received Farooq Mohammed Al Khateeb, Oil Reservoir Lands Advisor at Bapco Exploration and Production, in recognition of his 71 years of service in the oil and gas sector. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended Al Khateeb's contributions in aligning with the developments and successes achieved during his extensive career in various oil and gas companies. His Highness praised his competence, dedication, and commitment, recognising him as one of the prominent national figures who served for over seven consecutive decades. His Highness emphasised that honouring long-serving and dedicated citizens is in line with the approach and vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in appreciating national figures who have served in v arious sectors and contributed to the development of the modern state. Al Khateeb's remarkable career, spanning from 1953 to 2024, began as a worker in the oil and gas sector at Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco, then known as "BANOCO"), later moving to Tatweer Petroleum, and ultimately retiring from Bapco Exploration and Production. Throughout his career, he advanced through various technical positions in drilling, field and gas services, engineering, asset management, and land administration. He began in fuel storage and was the first Bahraini appointed as shift supervisor in the Bahrain field. Al Khateeb received numerous awards and honours for his professional achievements, serving as a model for dedication and an inspiration to his colleagues and future generations of employees.
