Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, chaired the Council's second meeting in 2024 at the Amiri Diwan, on Monday. Also present were HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, Vice Chairman of the Council; HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with Their Excellencies the Council members. The Council reviewed the decisions and recommendations made in the Council's first meeting in 2024 and the project follow-up report and was also briefed on the progress report of the state's economic priorities, and took appropriate decisions regarding them. The meeting discussed presentations on QatarEnergy's experience in creating investment opportunities for the private sector through the Tawteen program, and on the Ministry of Finance's experience in increasing the percentage of local value in government purchases and supporting the national product.
