Damascus, The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Bassam Ibrahim, discussed with the Iranian Ambassador to Syria, Hossein Akbari, the work of the joint committee related to scientific exchange, scientific twinning programs in specialized scientific fields, and mechanisms for developing the executive program signed between the two countries. Minister Ibrahim attached great importance to advancing and strengthening joint academic cooperation between Syrian and Iranian universities, in addition to exchanging professors, holding joint scientific conferences, and publishing in refereed scientific journals, pointing to the support provided by the Iranian side with regard to providing scholarships to Syrian students to pursue their academic achievement in the first university stage and postgraduate degree. Akbari underscored his country's keenness to take all measures to accelerate the amendment of the executive program and put it into practice, especially in the scientific and research field, de velop appropriate solutions, and facilitate the reception of students and researchers in both countries.
