Isa Al Shayji, President of the Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA), has extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for meeting BJA’s Board of Directors.
BJA President expressed his great appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for HRH’s unwavering support for the national press, contributing to empowering it and enabling it to carry out its duty in an environment of freedom of opinion and expression.
He added that the Bahraini press and media have achieved great gains under the democratic approach, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, thanks to the directives of HRH the Crown Prince to adhere to credibility and responsibility, as well as rectify false information.
Al-Shayji affirmed the keenness of BJA to protect the rights of journalists and provide an appropriate environment for them to foster creativity in the press and media sector. He added that it was important to work on protecting the intellectual property rights of newspapers and the efforts of journalists in Bahrain.
BJA President pledged that the press and media personnel will remain committed to their role as active members of Team Bahrain, by building on the rich legacy of the Bahraini press and improving its output.
