Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met today with the Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and several officials from various agencies that have contributed to the Kingdom of Bahrain's ranking of 18th place globally in the eGovernment Development Index, at Gudaibiya Palace. The ranking was reported in the UN E-Government Survey 2024. His Royal Highness affirmed Team Bahrain's efforts in advancing the Kingdom's achievements across all sectors, in line with the far-reaching vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to advancing its telecommunications and information technology sector, recognising it as a key driver of digital transformation across government. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad expressed his pride in the Kingdom's advanceme nt in the development index, placing it among the highest-ranked nations globally. HRH emphasised that this achievement is a testament to the progress made in the Kingdom's government services. His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of intensifying efforts to enhance the capabilities, quality, and integration of government services through modern technology, ensuring the sustainability of government workstreams. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad underscored the importance of further developing programmes and initiatives to support the Kingdom's digital transformation process, ensuring it meets current and future needs for the benefit of all. For their part, the Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), and the officials expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, noting HRH's unwavering support for efforts aimed at serving the Kingdom and its citizens. They furthe r reiterated their commitment to advancing the Kingdom's development, in line with the far-reaching vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at ensuring progress and prosperity for the Kingdom. It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain achieved 18th place in the UN E-Government Survey 2024, an improvement of 36 positions, placing the Kingdom among the global leaders in e-government services. In the 2024 report, the Kingdom achieved progress in all main and sub-indicators, ranking first globally in the technology adoption index within digital services, with significant progress across all sub-indicators of digital readiness. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), along with several senior officials, also attended the meeting.
