The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate denounced the series of crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army against the Palestinian journalistic situation, including the noticeable increase in the theft of journalistic equipment and the targeting of journalists in the West Bank by seizing work equipment, especially cellular communication devices. In a media report issued by the Syndicate's Freedoms Committee, it was stated that there were 84 incidents in which the occupation soldiers committed crimes of stealing journalists' property by easily confiscating them or sometimes destroying them by force of arms. The report indicated that since the Israeli aggression last October, 50 incidents of confiscation of journalists' cellular communications devices have been monitored and documented, especially at the moment of home invasion and arrest. In addition to about 8 laptop computers, about 8 Palestinian printing presses were confiscated and destroyed, as well as 3 small 'Doron' planes, especially for photojo urnalism, were confiscated. The report also stated that the occupation confiscated work cables, a microphone, and a protective shield, and several cameras were destroyed. The head of the Freedoms Committee, Muhammad al-Laham, commented on the report by saying that these incidents only occurred in the West Bank, and the extent of thefts and destruction in Gaza is much greater, with the bombing and destruction of about 86 media headquarters in the Gaza Strip, which makes it difficult to estimate all the damage due to the continuation of the bombing and aggression until this moment. Al-Lahham stated that what the occupation army is doing under the title of confiscation is nothing but theft at night and even during the day when it takes this equipment from homes and institutions without showing any legal document and without giving any identification paper as a report of the confiscation, which qualifies it to deny the confiscation and the theft of the equipment in the manner of burglary. Criminal gangs. Al-L ahham stressed that this equipment is specific to work, and that the mobile phone device, in light of technical progress, has become the lifeblood of any journalist, and by losing it, the journalist loses the most important tool in his profession Source: Maan News Agency
