The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have detained more than 9,450 Palestinians from various areas of the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds), since the start of the ongoing Israeli genocide on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023. In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) clarified that this figure includes those arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those taken as hostages. The statement further detailed that at least 20 individuals, including siblings and freed captives, were arrested by Israeli authorities in the past two days alone from various provinces of the West Bank, including Hebron, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Occupied Jerusalem. IOF continues its campaign of arrests through raids, extensive harassment, brutal beatings, threats against detainees and their families, alongside widespread acts of sabotage and destruction of civilian homes, the statement added.
