IOF Shoots Palestinian Civilian, Arrests 12 Others in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot a young Palestinian civilian today, while they arrested -in the past 24 hours- at least 12 Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, including children and freed captives.

Palestinian news agency (Wafa) reported that the IOF stormed the town of Zeita, north of Tulkarm, and fired heavy bullets in the vicinity of the Separation and Apartheid Wall, west of Zeita, during which the IOF shot a Palestinian civilian.

On the other hand, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said in a joint statement that, the IOF carried out widespread field investigations in the towns of Silwad and Kafr Nima in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, during which it arrested at least 18 Palestinian civilians who have not been identified yet.

The IOF continues to carry out widespread incursions and destruction in governorates, towns and refugee camps, accompanied by sabotage and destruction of Palestinian homes, as well as severe beatings practiced on detainees and their families.

Since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli genocide on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, the number of arrests in the occupied West Bank has risen to at least 9,360, the statement added, indicating that these arrests included those who were arrested from homes or through military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.

The IOF continues to implement systematic arrests, as one of the most prominent established policies, which escalated in an unprecedented manner after Oct. 7, 2023, not only in terms of the level of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.
