Islamic, International Organizations Condemn Incursions of Two Israeli Ministers, Knesset Members, Hundreds of Settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Islamic and international organizations have condemned the incursion of two ministers in the Israeli occupation government, members of the Knesset, and hundreds of settlers into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the imposition of restrictions on the entry of worshippers. Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) deemed the act of storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, desecrating its courtyards and preventing worshippers from entering them, as an unequivocal provocation on Muslims' emotions in the entire world, and a flagrant violation of international law and UN relevant resolutions. In a statement on Tuesday, OIC warned of the perilous continuation of Israeli policies that intend to alter the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem city, stressing that Israel, the de facto occupying power, has no sovereignty over the occupied Jerusalem city and its sanctities. It added that Al-Aqsa Mosque, the noble sanctuary in its entirety, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims only. In addition, OIC called on internation al community, particularly the United Nations Security Council to uphold the responsibility for ending these dangerous and recurrent violations of sanctimonious places and freedom of worship, stressing the importance of halting the Israeli aggression immediately, and providing international protection for the Palestinian people. For his part, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, condemned the Israeli national security minister for leading prayers at the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and deemed this sort of behavior as unhelpful and unduly provocative. He told the reporters that UN stands against any efforts to change the status quo within the holy sites. European Union condemned the provocative acts of the Israeli national security minister, with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, tweeting on X platform, by saying that the EU strongly condemns the provocations by Israeli Min. Ben-Gvir who, during his visit to the Holy Sites, advocated for the violation of the status quo. Source: Qatar News Agency
