Ramallah, The number of Palestinians arrested by the israeli occupation authorities in the West Bank, since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, has risen to 8,270 detainees, after 25 people were arrested during the last 24 hours, including a child and freed captives. In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoners Society said that most of the arrests took place in Qalqilya, Hebron and Jenin, while other arrests occurred in the governorates of Bethlehem and Occupied Jerusalem. The statement explained that the arrests included those who were arrested from homes and through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage. The occupation forces carried out widespread raids and torture in the governorates, towns and camps of the West Bank, accompanied by severe beatings and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to sabotage and destruction of ho mes, and the seizure of money and vehicles, the statement added. It is noteworthy that the israeli occupation forces continue to implement systematic arrests in the West Bank, as one of the most prominent established policies that escalated in an unprecedented manner after the start of the israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, not only in terms of the increasing number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of abuse against them.
