Jordan and the European Union (EU) signed a loan agreement worth EUR 400 million to enhance water security and climate adaptation in the country. The agreement was signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and Director for Lending Operations in EU Neighboring Countries at the European Investment Bank (EIB) Lionel Rapaille. The program supports reforms in the water sector through priority measures relating to reducing water losses in water facilities, enhancing sustainable water supply, improving operational efficiency, increasing the level of service to water and sanitation subscribers throughout the Kingdom and enhancing capabilities in the water sector.
