KSGAAL opens registration for second edition of Harf Arabic Language Competition

Riyadh, King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) announced the opening of registration for the second edition of the Harf of Arabic Language Competition. Entry for registration will continue until September 15. Harf is a language competition designed for non-native Arabic language learners who are regular participants in Arabic language teaching institutes in Saudi public and private universities, Arabic language teaching centers for non-Arabic speakers, and community centers. Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al Washmi, KSGAAL Secretary General reported that the Harf competition seeks to achieve the strategic goals of the academy in promoting the dissemination of Arabic language culture among non-native speakers, in line with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Programme, emanating from Saudi's Vision 2030, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The KSGAAL has identified three categories for participation in the competition: the initial category includes owners of emerging ideas, beginne rs, and secondary school students. The intermediate category is for undergraduate students, while the advanced category is identified for postgraduate students. The organizing academy has allocated prizes totaling 100,000 Saudi Riyals to the top three winners in each field. It has stipulated that the participant must be a regular student in a Saudi educational institution and, accordingly, a Saudi residency holder. The applicant must be present in all stages of the competition and must also register by contacting the relevant administration of the institution to which they belong to obtain the platform link or submit an introduction letter from their institution of study. The first edition of the competition witnessed the participation of more than 60 nationalities, with the number of participants exceeding 750 male and female participants, belonging to many Saudi educational universities and institutes. As many as 56 participants reached the final qualifying stage, with India topping the list in terms of n umber with 73 competitors, followed by Indonesia and Afghanistan with 42 each, Ivory Coast with 38, Burkina Faso with 37, Nigeria with 34, Guinea, Gambia and Chad with 32 each, while Mali had 30 competitors.
