President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, met Thursday with new Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces against ISIS, Maj. Gen. Kevin Leahy. The Presidency of the Region stated in a press statement that the two sides agreed that ISIS still poses a serious and real danger and threatens security and stability in the region. The statement added that the two sides stressed the importance and necessity of continuing the missions of the international coalition and joint cooperation between the Iraqi army, the Peshmerga forces and the international coalition forces in order to confront terrorism and ensure the final elimination of ISIS. Earlier today, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Leahy and discussed the general situation in the region, Iraq and Syria, and the efforts made to confront ISIS dangers and combat terrorism.
