Labour Market Regulatory Authority intensifies inspection campaigns

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of five joint inspection campaigns in coordination with the relevant government agencies in all governorates, with the aim of verifying compliance with laws and regulations, and addressing illegal practices that affect the labour market.

The inspection campaigns included visits to a number of commercial facilities, work sites, as well as a number of health institutions, and resulted in reporting a number of violations.

The violations were noted and referred for legal action.The Authority implemented a joint campaign in coordination with the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) and the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) in the Capital, Northern and Southern governorates.

A joint inspection campaign was also carried out in the Capital Governorate with the participation of the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Directorate of Police in the Governorate, in addition to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, while the third campaign was in coordination with the with the Sentences Enforcement Directorate at the Ministry of Interior in the Capital Governorate.

Two inspection campaigns were also carried out in Muharraq Governorate in coordination with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence to monitor cases of trafficking in persons and forced labour.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal practices in the labour market by filling out the electronic form designated for reporting on the official website of the Authority www.lmra.gov.bh or calling the Authority's call center 17506055.
