Manama, The national project Lamea, the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), Bapco Energies, and Kuwait Finance House (KFH) have signed a partnership agreement.
The agreement aims to support Lamea, the programme conducted under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs to create promising youth leaders with a strong base of skills and national awareness, who qualified for leadership positions in various sectors.
Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs were present during the signing.
The agreement was signed by Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Lamea Association’s Vice Chair, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director-General of the BIPD; Abdul Rahman Jawahery, CEO of Bahrain Petroleum Company BAPCO Refining; and Abdul Hakim Al Khayyat, Managing Director and CEO of KFH.
Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed said Lamea aimed at harnessing Bahrain’s youth capabilities, investing in their energy, enhancing their training opportunities, and motivating them.
He praised the organisations' support, stating that their contribution stems from their sense of national responsibility and eagerness to empower Bahrain's youth.
The Minister of Youth Affairs said that HH Shaikh Nasser launched Lamea to discover and highlight the energies of ambitious youth.
The aim is to optimise investment in youth for the future Bahrain, as they are force mobilising achievements, success and progress, she said.
In the first edition of Lamea, 75 entities participated, with 131 young men and women. In the second edition, 110 entities and 192 participants participated.
Graduates from "Lami'" have numerous career opportunities, including leadership positions and strategic project work teams, and have represented Bahrain very well, she said.
The third edition of the competition saw a significant increase in participation, with 194 parties and 246 participants. After seven challenging stages, 20 young men and women from the nation's best youth qualified for the challenges stage, she added.
Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa said Lamea formed a strong foundation for skilled young people capable of leading the future of the kingdom.
The third edition of the program aims to provide a clear roadmap for young leaders, she said.
She added that the third edition comprised more challenges that assess their thought process, capabilities, and potential.
Dr. Shaikha Rana emphasised the importance of empowering youth in Bahrain's ambitious national plans, innovative development projects, and economic goals; aiming to enhance their role in making a difference and driving national efforts.
BIPA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Lamea, has been working on designing and implementing Lamea to equip young national leaders with the skills to make decisions, build institutional policies, and develop development projects, she explained.
