Manama, A ceremony marking Laylat Al Qadr and the honoring of the winners of the 28th edition of Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize, will be be held tomorrow evening under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Ahmed Al Fateh Mosque immediately after Tarawih prayers. The event is organised by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments. In this year's edition of the Quran grand prize, 4,207 contestants of both genders: 1,769 males and 2,438 females, participated in the categories of the prize. The Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize included seven categories: The Holy Quran memorization for students of Quranic centres, Bayan Prize for school students, Ajran Prize for people with special needs, Ghufran Prize for inmates of the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre, Ridhwan Prize for the general public, Salman Al Farsi Prize for non-Arabic speakers recitation, and recitation and good performance. The competition als o includes individual prizes - The eldest contestant prize, the youngest contestant prize, Dawood's Flute prize, best Quran centre prize, the family Quran Prize, and best local Quran competition prize.
