Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday met with French Minister for Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, who is visiting Beirut. During the meeting, Mikati stressed "the priority of stopping the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, and implementing Resolution 1701 in letter and spirit, provided that Israel adheres to its provisions." For her part, the French Foreign Minister underlined reducing the escalation on the southern Lebanese border, and developing a mechanism to find a solution that would be a prelude to establishing permanent stability in the south.
