LMRA CEO receives Kuwait delegation

Nibras Taleb, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, received a Kuwaiti delegation led by Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al Duaij Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights. The meeting took place at the Migrant Workers Protection Society. LMRA CEO emphasised the strong relations and cooperation between the two countries across various domains. He underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise, particularly in bolstering the work environment, combating unlawful practices, and addressing human trafficking. The CEO outlined the Kingdom's initiatives, projects, and measures aimed at combating human trafficking and safeguarding labour rights. He highlighted the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), which integrates all relevant governmental and non-governmental entities combating human trafficking into a unified electronic system to ensure streamlined, efficient , and accurate operations. The Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the role played by the Migrant Workers Protection Society in providing various preventive, advisory, legal, and shelter services for victims and potential victims of human trafficking. It was also given overview of the Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, which aims to provide a pool of certified trainers equipped with the necessary skills to identify and assist victims or potential victims of human trafficking.
