Manama, The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) announced the upcoming launch of their collaborative initiative 'Working Together.' The initiative aims to enhance awareness of the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees, thereby promoting justice, equity, and stability in the workplace. The initiative is part of Bahrain's commitment to sustaining an organised labour market that safeguards the rights of all parties involved, recognising that a stable and fair work environment is key to boosting productivity and achieving mutual satisfaction among employers and workers. Nibras Talib, CEO of LMRA and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, emphasised that the initiative reflects Bahrain's dedication to enhancing awareness of the rights and duties of all stakeholders to foster a well-organised and safe labour market that promotes social and economic development. Erika Broers, Chief of Mission (a. i) of IOM-Bahrain, said that 'Working Together' will mark another important milestone in the kingdom's journey of pioneering initiatives to strengthen the protection of expatriate workers. "The initiative supports Bahrain's approach to combating trafficking in persons and will contribute to raising the public's awareness by adopting a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach," she added. Activities under the "Working Together" initiative will include various awareness-raising events designed to educate participants on the kingdom's procedures that aim to improve the work environment for everyone involved. The initiative will also seek to inform the targeted audience about regulations and laws relevant to the labour market. LMRA will utilise its digital platforms to distribute surveys which are intended to assess the public's understanding of workplace laws, regulations, and processes, as well as to identify and address any information gaps regarding the rights and responsibilities of work parties.
