MCIT Launches Government Resources Planning, Management System

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MCIT) has officially launched the first phase of the project of government resources planning system within the framework of Qatar's commitment to constantly updating and upgrading the operation mechanisms of the government sector.

The launch of the first phase comes following the inaugural meeting of the project relevant committee held on Wednesday at the premises of MCIT. The project of government resource planning system steering committee was established by the cabinet decision to oversee the project with the membership of MCIT, Ministry of Finance and Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.

Chairman of the project of government resource planning system steering committee, Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, said the project seeks to find innovative and overarching technological solutions that would achieve highest standards of operational aptitude in the government sector through the automation of planning and managing human and financial resources in all government entities, as well as ensuring optimal use of cutting-edge technologies.

The first phase of the project aims to study and analyze the current situation with respect to measures and systems applied in managing human and financial resources in the government sector, in addition to designing an integrated system to manage government resources based on best practices in this field.

This also includes management of budget, payment, revenues, purchasing, supply chains, as well as asset management, etc. to help government institutions, as well as strengthen aptitude and support decision-making processes.

The project is considered one of MCIT's strategic pillars as it strives to upgrade the government efficiency in managing its resources and maximizing the utilization of the cutting-edge technology to excel in managing its works and optimizing financial and human planning, as well as promoting credibility of its data to support the decision-making processes.
