Minister of Environment and Climate Change Inaugurates Non-Ionizing Radiation Frequency Analysis Unit in Qatar

HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, inaugurated yesterday the Non-Ionizing Radiation Frequency Analysis Unit in the State of Qatar, affiliated to the Radiation Protection Section, at the Radiation and Chemicals Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

The Unit seeks to improve the monitoring of non-ionizing radiation in the air environment in the State of Qatar as a first stage of the integrated project, as the project will help monitor non-ionizing radiation emissions in the country, according to the highest standards through the initiative to prepare and implement an integrated national plan to monitor non-ionizing radiation levels. This initiative is based on developing a national plan for continuous monitoring, measuring the concentration of radiation levels, determining their sources, and ensuring that their levels are within the permissible limits, in accordance with international standards.
