Doha: The Ministry of Culture is participating in the 10th edition of the Baku International Book Fair 2024, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Running until October 8, the fair is celebrating the 530th anniversary of the birth of Azerbaijani poet and philosopher Mahammad Fuzuli (1494-1556). The Ministry of Culture's participation aims to showcase Qatari intellectual production, promote the Doha International Book Fair, and highlight the Ministry's digital library, in addition to enhancing cultural and intellectual exchanges. Several Qatari publishing houses are participating in this year's edition, including Dar Al Watad for Publishing and Distribution, Rosa Publishing, Dar Napjah, and Katateeb. Commenting on the Ministry's participation in the fair, Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain said that it aims to foster new connections with culture and publishing professionals, in addition to showcasing the intellectual produc tion of Qatari publishing houses. The Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture stressed the Ministry's commitment to promoting Qatari literature and culture through presenting the Ministry's latest and wide-ranging publications, including those on law, social sciences, and the humanities, as well as novels and children's and young adult literature.
