The Radio Broadcasting Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MOCS) revealed the details of the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system, which came within the framework of keeping pace with the technology revolution, including radio broadcasting.
The launch of the new system comes in light of the search for better means of radio broadcasting, where there is desire to keep pace with development. After relying previously on "AM" and "FM" technologies, DAB system was developed through devices installed in cars, in addition to listening to it through mobile devices via DAB technology.
The DAB radio broadcasting system provides its services to government agencies and various community institutions, where ambulances and civil defense can benefit from the "DAB" digital radio broadcasting technology. The system will provide various radio services through satellite capabilities to carry a large number of specialized radio channels and facilitate access to cultural and awareness information.
