Network of Organizations Condemns Killing of American Activist Aisha Noor by Israeli Occupation

Ramallah - Ma'an - The Palestinian American Network of Organizations condemned the assassination of American activist Aisha Nour (Aysnur) Ezgi Eci on September 6, 2024, while she was participating in a solidarity march with the Palestinian people against the practices and violations of settlers and the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank town of Beita near Nablus. The network said that this deliberate killing and systematic targeting of American activists and citizens in solidarity with the Palestinian people has faced no legal consequences or accountability from successive US administrations. As happened in the assassination of American activist Rachel Corrie in Gaza on March 16, 2003, American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on May 11, 2022, and the elderly Omar Asaad, 80 years old, on January 11, 2022. She continued, 'The US administration continues to ignore these crimes, and ironically demands that Israel investigate itself, where the results are known in advance. These martyrs, whom the US governm ent considers to be mere numbers, are treated by the media as mere dead on the battlefield. In contrast, a false narrative is being promoted about the killing of American-Israeli dual citizen Hersh Goldberg Polin, who was portrayed in the media as a hero and humanized as a person who loved life, football, his family and friends, and was violently murdered. In reality, he was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which also killed six Israeli prisoners. Despite the truth, the US administration accepted Israel's narrative that he was killed by the Palestinian resistance, and immediately imposed sanctions on six resistance leaders without any judicial review or An independent investigation into the death of Goldberg. The network pointed out that this double discrimination in the treatment of American citizens reveals a complete bias towards the Israeli narrative and disregard for the lives of American citizens who are either non-white or who are in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their cause. It cal led on the American administration to condemn this assassination and bring the Israeli sniper who deliberately killed Eisner and others to trial in American courts to achieve justice, as we do not trust Israel's false judicial system.
