Manama, The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Board of Commissioners held its 21st regular meeting, led by Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, the Chairman of the NIHR. They discussed key issues related to the institution's progress and future plans aimed at advancing human rights principles. These efforts form an integral part of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The board also reviewed achievements in enhancing cooperation between the institution, civil society organisations, and international human rights entities. The board approved plans to organise awareness seminars for staff, supervisors, and specialists at social care centres under the Ministry of Social Development. The seminars will focus on the institution's role and duties, as well as the rights and responsibilities of juveniles under the Corrective Justice Law for Children, and the services provided to other vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities and the elderly. The meeting co ncluded with an emphasis on the NIHR's commitment to promoting transparency and accountability while working towards its strategic objectives of advancing human rights in Bahrain for the benefit of all individuals and society.
