The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received a delegation from Kuwait, led by Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al Duaij Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights. The two sides reviewed the mechanism of the institution's work, as well as the responsibilities and areas of expertise of the Commissioner for Children's Rights. During the visit, Dr. Malallah Jaffar Alhammadi, Head of the Detention and Facilities Visitation Committee, briefed the delegation on the NIHR's role in addressing human rights matters. Dr. Hooreya Abbas Hasan, Member of the Council of Commissioners, gave a briefing on the Commissioner for Children's Rights specialisations and role in promoting and protecting children's rights in the kingdom.
