CEO of Norway's Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace Company Geir Haoy stressed that the official visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Kingdom of Norway is a great opportunity to cement the existing strong relations between the two countries, which have been bound by commercial cooperation for more than 50 years. In his remarks to Qatar News Agency , Haoy said that the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Norway are major energy producers, and this is very important. He noted that Kongsberg shares interest with the State of Qatar in technological innovations, as well as its efforts to continue cooperation and development in other sectors, such as energy, security, and defense, as well as the maritime sector. The CEO of Kongsberg pointed out that there is solid bilateral cooperation between the State of Qatar and the company in various fields, expressing his aspiration to move forward in this cooperation in the future. He indicated that there are important sectors for joint cooperation betwee n the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Norway, most notably the energy sector, as the world depends on the two countries to achieve energy security. He pointed out that Kongsberg has a partnership that extends for more than two decades with QatarEnergy and QatarEnergy LNG, and the company also provides advanced control and monitoring systems, and safety systems for the Qatari gas tanker fleet. Haoy expressed his aspiration to continue cooperation relations with the State of Qatar, especially since there are solid foundations that can be built upon in the future. The CEO of Kongsberg concluded his remarks to QNA by saying that there are many other areas in which they can cooperate with the State of Qatar, and they look forward to being able, during this visit, to discuss mechanisms of cooperation regarding securing basic infrastructure, which is something that both Qatar and Norway attach great importance to.
