Palestinian Presidency Rejects Israeli Plan to Legalize 155 Outposts in West Bank

Spokesman for Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh on Saturday affirmed that all forms of Israeli settlement activity are illegal according to the resolutions of the international legitimacy.

Commenting on far-right and racist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrichs plan to legalize 155 unauthorized outposts in the occupied West Bank, Abu Rudeineh said, "Attempts by Israeli occupation authorities and their extremist ministers to confer legitimacy upon any settlement established on the lands of the State of Palestine will not succeed. UN Security Council Resolution 2334 confirms that all settlements are illegal and violate international law, including those in East Jerusalem." According to Palestinian news agency (WAFA), Abu Rudeineh underscored the responsibility of the United States administration to halt such dangerous decisions, and urged "tangible actions against the ongoing aggression, crimes, and collective punishment imposed by Israeli authorities on the Palestinian people, which amount to apartheid." "This Israeli policy, aimed at waging war against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sacred sites, while providing protection for settler terrorism, is driving the region into a cycle of violence and escalation," said the Presidents spokesman. He highlighted the steadfastness and commitment of the Palestinian people to their land and national principles, asserting that all attempts to undermine their cause and steal their land will fail.

"The policy of annexation and expansion pursued by successive Israeli governments will never lead to peace and stability. Instead, it will lead to grave consequences. A return to the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem at its core, is the key to achieving security, peace, and stability," he said.
